Hells Gate & Bridal Falls.

While on our way here to Cultus Lake, we had to pass by "Hell's Gate", in the Fraser Valley. We thought we might stop on our way past,but it quickly became apparent that it would be difficult, if not impossible to park our large motor homes and toads, so we decided that as it was only about 70 miles from Cultus lake, we would go back in one of the cars. Well, Tuesday was that day. The weather could not have been better as we left our campground, for the pleasant drive back through the Fraser Canyon.



The front entrance to Hells Gate, where you get on

the Air Tram, and travel down 800 ft and across

the Fraser River. Simon Fraser wrote in his journal,

"A place where no human being should venture,

for surely we have entered the gates of hell"

At high water, 200 million gallons of water

a minute, travelling at 25 mph pass through the

"Gate", twice the volume of Niagara Falls.

On our way back to Cultus Lake, we stopped

off at Bridal Falls, just off Hwy 1 east of Chilliwack.
