A busy day of making things.

When I got back from Church today, Jim was pulling his hair out, looking at the instructions on how to put the new BBQ together. So I made us a coffee and 2+ hours later we got it done. And we only had one nut left over. Not bad going for us.

Making my "Fairy House".

Now if you know me, you know how I like to make things. Well when we were in Palm Springs California, I saw a "Fairy House", made from a Gourd. The price was $400+. Well wouldn't you just know it, Jim wouldn't go for that, so when I saw a fresh one for sale when we were in Mexico, for just $5.00, I had to buy it, so I could make my own Fairy House. Then of course I had to get it home. It goes without saying, I got it home!!! Two weeks ago, after it was all dried out, I cut out the door's and the windows, then I put on a base coat. Today I started to do the top coats.

Our Girls and our Grandchicken's.

The good thing is we get loads of eggs..........
We had a great BBQ round at Genette's & Darren's Saturday. Chicken was not on the menu.

Will we eat then ???????? not sure I could.

A day in North Wales.

Friday morning, Jim & I set off to visit Jim's Mum & Dad's grave in North Wales, on the Island of Anglesey. The weather was great as we left, and stayed nice for the whole day which is strange as Wales can be very wet and windy. The M6, which is the busiest motorway in England, was not too bad for the 80 miles or so we traveled on it. We then traveled on the A5 through some lovely villages and the Snowdonia mountain range, until finally we got to Anglesey.

Rape seed is growing all over the place.

This house is called the "Ugly House" The girls and I always loved it.
Jims Mum and Dad used to take Gen and George there whenever
they visited and stayed with their "Nanny and Grandad Wales".

Part of Snowdonia National Park.

This is the "Menai Bridge" from Bangor, N Wales to Anglesey.
Taken from the Anglsesy side. It used to be the only way to cross
the Menai Straights until the new bridge was built, about 20 years ago.

The Church in Bryncincin where Mum, Dad and Jims
sister Sylvia, rest.

This gate was put up in Sylvia's memory.

Carnarfon Castle. from across the Menai Straights.

English cow's.....

This one is for you Phil, see the white car?, what's different about it???????
it only has 3 wheels, one at the front and two at the back.

The wind farm out at sea, was new to us.

The secret is to keep feeding them...........

We had a great night with Georgina's 3 last night, they like their food, and deserts are a winner every time, so we had 2 or 3. We have been home 3 weekends now, and have had house guests each one, Edward is the only one not to have stayed yet. When they left on Saturday afternoon, Jim and I went for a drive. We called at a garden center, and then went to Hatton Hatton World Experience

Another desert.....I think this was breakfast?

I have put a few photo's I took from the car below.

No way would we get the RV under there.

Not one pair of shoe have I puchased...

We have been home now 2 weeks and Jim has his new set of wheels, and the new TV is ready for the World Cup in June. Now he has on order the new sofa to sit on. I'm hoping to get my sewing machine soon too. Thinking of getting the Janome DC3050, can anyone tell me if they have had one or heard anything, good or bad about this one?????

Mondeo Titanium Estate TDCi

"Phil, asked me about the car stuff "
so here goes. It has one engine, in the front, 4cylinder, 1800cc, twin turbo diesel, and so you put diesel in the tank, (but only when a buzzer goes off) and it has 6 forward gears, but Jim says I only use 3. It has a great Sony radio and 6 CD player, and an on board computer that does so much I will never learn it all. It talks to you to, you can tell her to turn the radio on and off, and she does, turn the heating up and down......and she does.
Jim says it does 0 to 60 in under 8 seconds, and a top speed of 135mph. It also returns 35 mpg round town, and up to 50mpg on a run, so all in all, not bad.
New 37" TV...
New sofa, with electric recliner's each end. But were not telling the grandchildren..LOL

Conor's night.

Conor is 8 years old, & has Cerebral Palsy. He is having a charity night to raise funds for equipment & alternative therapy to help him lead a more independent life. I have known Conor's Mum & Dad for many years, as they are very good friends of Dan & Georgina's.

I love this photo of Conor and his Uncle Rob.

Georgina dancing with little Joe, "like daughters like mother". Genette is sitting this one out, with Grace on the dance floor.

Trying to do the Quiz.........

George and Gen still trying. All natural curls in their hair, just like Jims. I wish I had a few.

The boys having a pint or two.

Conor picks out the numbers for the raffle. "Thanks Conor, I got a prize"

Dan & Jim, happy about something, can't be the quiz, as we didn't win that one....

Darren & Gen.

Emma and Grace dancing with friends.

We all had a great time, and I loved watching the little ones dancing and having fun. Jim got a few pints of (warm) English beer, and I won a prize on the raffle. It was well after 11pm when we left and the children were falling fast. I think they were all asleep by the time we got home.

Emma asked for the first sleep-over, so Saturday night she made up a bed next to our bed, as she did not want to sleep in the spare room. We got to make cakes and do some sewing.
