Port Isaac and Widemouth Bay.

Sunday the sun came out......at last. We went to Port Isaac, the beautiful Cornish fishing village used
as  the backdrop for the popular TV series, Doc Martin. In the series the village is called Portwenn.
From there we went along the coast aways, stopping at a few coastal villages, Tintagel and Bude to name but two, and then stopping for a  walk along the dunes at Widemouth Bay.

Looking at the small harbour from just outside "Doc Martins" house and surgery.

Looking up at the house from the harbour. His is the smaller of the buildings at the top of the cliff

The smaller house is the surgery in the TV series.

Miss Molly would not let go of her stick.

Dartmoor Devon

a6

Dartmoor Prison. Right in the middle of the moors, its quite a bleak place now, it must have have looked an impossible place to escape from when it was first built.

 a1
Great to see so many of the Dartmoor pony’s looking so healthy.

a2

This little fella was a litle too friendly, and tried to get into the car.

Even when I tried to close the window, he refused to remove his head from the car.....

a4
Despite the rain, this is a really beautiful place, a walking trail alongside the river, with the stone bridge, taking the road over the river. When the sun finaly came out, it really was quite spectacular.

I love the wood work.

The roads are so narrow here, both door mirrors were hitting the hedges at the same time.

Came accross this pretty farmhouse on our way back to Peter Tavy, our home for 10 days.

a16
Nice to see the Dartmoor ponies again.

This last photo made me smile, it's so wet here this summer, the new markings on the sheep has run, making "PINK" sheep.
