My Quilt

This really is a friend-ship quilt. I would still be trying to work out how to put the squares together with out my friends help. Jerry's sewing machine worked great, and the three of them had so much good advice for me. I hope with Jerry's, Barb & Janie's help I will get it done before we go home.

This weeks best find.

I have managed to get into the river a few times this week. Fred came over from Tampa with a few members of the Tampa club. The water is still a little too high to go too far out, BUT not too high to stop me........ I was so happy to find this Bear tooth (the first one of this size I have). I will miss this river, I now know how Debbie felt.

Such good food, and so much of it. We stopped passers-by to come join us, as there was so much food.

That’s Don in the middle. I could listen to him all day. He makes every one he meets  laugh, and his wife, Mary, is such a sweet heart. 

Time to catch up with old friends.

Chill”nGrill

We try and go to the Chill”nGrill in Wauchula when we are here as the ribs are sooo so good. The little town of Wauchula puts on so much, but this has to be the best.

There were some vintage cars to look at, one of the locale shops was giving out free pop corn, and Main street was closed to traffic, so that tw0 big bouncy castle type things could be placed out for the kids.

Two cakes, lucky me.

This cake is wonderful, I had a slice last year when Judy and I went to the Java Cafe. so Judy and Lee got me one all to myself, not sure where the last slice went!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So nice to have good friends to share my birthday with.

Jim got me some perfume, a warm coat for home, and a digital photo frame, so I can see you all 24/7.

Tuesday evenings there is a jam session here, with a good turn out.  Next week I’m thinking of joining in with my new “spoons”, a gift from Mary.

Happy Valentine's Day

Some of you may remember in 2004 I had to have my wedding ring cut-off, after an insect bite on my finger. Well, Jim got me a new wedding band a few months later. but I always talked about having it blessed. We could not think of a better person to bless the ring than our good friend Ed Jenkins and no better place , than the Peace River Chapel to get this done. So today, in Church, with all our friends there, we had my ring blessed.

Where has the "Sun" gone......

We have been at Peace River, Florida, for 2 weeks , and have been able to sit outside once....I have left Jim in the RV with the heater on. Now, he is older (birthday last week) he is feeling the cold, poor thing.

First time in the river today.

Sorry we have not put anything on the blog for a week BUT so much "Pickellball" and so many friends to sit and have "tea" with.......

Never too "OLD".

Today we went to get our mail from the post office, in Zolfo Springs. There were 3 boxes for us. One from Texas, with all our letter post, and 2 from Barb ( Barb & Dennis) our friends we left back in California. Now I knew Barb was sending me two “Bitty Baby” dolls, from the American Girl family collection. Barb had got these for Emma & Grace our granddaughters back in England. So I was unsure as to what would be in the second box. When I opened it I saw the American Girl Doll I had seen on the internet and had fallen in love with.

Barb had found one on E Bay, and bought it for me for my birthday later this month. If your reading this Barb, again, thank you so much. I have stopped crying my “happy tears” and am no longer speechless.

Just like coming home…

And what a great welcome we had, hugs, tears and more hugs.

And a walk  around the camp ground to see old friends, then down to the river topped the day of for me.

Tonight we are all of to the Pioneer Restaurant for CHICKEN, sweet potato fries, and corn fritters, “Life is GOOD”.
