Happy Birthday to ME.......

Sherry made me this glass display case, It is wonderful.

Barb made me this great cake. And gave me a "Star Bear", and lots more.

Friends play their Dulcimer's, just for us.

Rich and I had a great time with friends on Sunday, and so much food and Music. All at Rich and Donna's place.

I could not believe it when Chris gave me the 1st Basket she ever made.
I will treasure it as I know how long it took her to make, and how hard it is do. I was speechless and in tear's when Bill & Sherry gave me the glass display case she made for my "woolly mammoth tooth".

The mini Golf...

Day one.
The first 3 holes are made.

Last winter, Jim's project while here at Peace River, was to help with the building of the nature trail here at the preserve. He enjoyed it, and hoped that there would be something similar for him to do this year.
Well, last week, the nine hole miniature golf course began, and he was there to help. So far, they have poured the first three holes, and have readied for pouring the next three. He has never before worked with concrete, so it was a first for him. They hope to have it finished before Debbie leaves, so they have about 6 weeks in which to Finnish.

Happy Birthday Jim

2 cakes......
me, Kathy,Bob & Birthday boy

This week was Jim's birthday. As luck would have it, I came down with a dreaded bug, which kept me in bed for the first two days of the week. As a double whammy, I also managed to hurt my back, so was not up to doing too much. To the rescue came our friend Barbara, who not only said she would make a cake, but when she delivered it to our motorhome, she produced TWO beautiful looking cakes.
They tasted even better than they looked.

Another of our friends, Chris, (Chris and Mark) also came to my rescue. She practices 'Reflexology,' and she worked on me for 2 days, and for all you skeptics, it worked. My back problem disappeared. And the meals on wheels from Joy and Barb, A BIG THANK YOU.

Yet another of our friends here at Peace River, Bob Hughes, holds "metal art work classes," for the members, and unknown to Jim, I attended one of these classes. With Bobs help and guidance, I made a metal cut out of a "British Bobby" and his Police Dog. As you can see, its mounted on a plinth, and although I say so myself, was very pleased with the result. This was Jim's birthday present from me, and he was both surprised and pleased to receive it. Bob and his wife Cathy also made us (its my birthday soon too) a license plate, showing a "Union Jack" flag, and "British Pickle Ball Players" written underneath. Is that neat or what?

Also, unknown to Jim, we had a little surprise birthday party for him Friday night, at our motor home. Most of our friends who were able to come, came, and after his initial shock, he had a good time. AND he ate LOTS of cake. To all that came, we both give our thanks. Its so great to know we have such wonderful friends here in what is to us, a foreign land.

My baby sister is coming to visit

We had an email this week, from my little sister Les, telling me she was told by Tony (her other half) she could have a party for her 50th birthday, or come visit her big sister in Florida. I am so glad she chose Florida. I can show her our home (RV) and the "Peace River". She is a very good artist and will be bringing her paint brushes and easle with her, so she will have lots to do and see here. And I will have a willing shopper to go shopping with !!!!!!!!!!!! Jim's good, but after 4 hours he stars to lose interest.
