All 5 chickens are still alive after 2 weeks..

WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM GRACE AND EDWARD.

This week we will move into our new home, after over 3 months staying with the girls and living out of suit cases. We cannot thank Gen & George (especially Gen) enough for putting up with us and all my clothes and shoes all over the place. We have had a great two weeks at George and Dan's looking after the chickens, and playing on the "Wii". I have mastered a few of the games and got to the top of the score charts. but I'm sure Dan will over-take me when he gets back from his hol's.

RV Show UK Style....

We went to an RV show in Great Malvern at the weekend. Mostly European class 'C', but quite a few American RV's too. We saw this VW camper, brand new, now being made in Brazil, and converted by a company named Danbury, a well established British converter.
Nostalgic, yes. Would we buy one?, No. We did feel a little homesick for our Tradewinds, as we wandered through the American models.
Jane, true to form, bought a pair of shoes. She assured me she really needed them!!!!! Hmm.

Not as good as Pickle Ball, but better than nothing.

As you know we are house sitting for 2 weeks, and Dan has a Nintendo "Wii", and as you can see we have worked out how it works. After we set our selves up we had to do a ''Wii'' test, and my ''Wii'' age was an unbelievable 66, and Jim was 57. We need to get ''Wii fit'', and only have 2 weeks to do it.

House update; Contracts finaly exchanged on our new house, and we are still set to move in a week tomorrow, Wednesday August 20th. WE NEED A HOLIDAY!!!!!!!

We are staying at George & Dans, 'till we move in to our new house on the 20th August. (fingers crossed, this is the 3rd date we have had) They have taken the children to Crete for 2 weeks, so we have been put in charge of the CHICKENS...
We have to clean the 2 chicken houses once a week, and today we did just that. It took just over an hour with both of us doing it. George does it on her own in much less time........... what does that tell you?
We get 5 eggs a day most days. and never less that three a day. Guess what we have for breakfast!!!
Its very windy today, with occasional thundery showers. At least the sun shines between the showers.
Our good friends Kathy and John are coming to see us today, and we plan on going out to dinner with them later. Its the first time we have seen Kathy since she retired from teaching at the end of last term. John will be retiring from the Police in October.
Genette and Darren came with the children to see us yesterday. I don't think little Edward quite understood why we were here, and not Auntie George and Uncle Dan. They are such great kids, we will miss them terribly when we go back to the US.
We got a text from George on their first day in Crete, just to let us know they had arrived at the apartment ok, and that when they landed at midnight, it was still 28c. We were huddled under the duvet, trying to keep warm at the time, 6.30am.

Poor Joe, at the back, is not too sure when dad gets the hosepipe out, but that did not stop him getting muddy, and if you look closely you can see the chickens running around getting the worms from the wet earth.

A day at the seaside

Friday we drove down to Southampton to see Gen, Darren Grace & Edward for the day, as they are spending some time with Darren parents, who live by the sea. We all drove to the beach at Highcliffe which happened to be the beach where Jim broke his arm when he was a boy. It was a very nice day, we drove through the New Forest, very picturesque, stopped for a pub lunch, then back to Darren's parents, before driving back to Solihull
