The sun has gone into hiding, the rain clouds appeared overnight and as I write this it is pouring with rain - here in the Californian desert. Its also turned positively chilly, with the high today expected to reach about 57 f.
But, since we got here, last Tuesday, we have kept ourselves busy. Jane has been line dancing, and starts her own class up this morning. Could be a full class as the weather is so crummy, people wanting something to do as they cant sit in the sun or swim in the heated pool. Such a hard life we have......
Yesterday we said goodbye to Bob and Julie. They have moved 20 miles or so to Catalina Spa. We have so enjoyed catching up with them again. Its been nearly 2 years since we last saw them. Barb and Dennis move today, also to Catalina Spa. We spent much of the last two winters with them in Florida, and of course saw them while we were in Alaska this past summer. That leaves just Mark Chris and us. It has been a great week, lots of pickle ball, and lots of just hanging out together. On Saturday last, we had a pot-luck dinner at Bob and Julies, coronation chicken, fantastic BBQ'd ribs, huge salad, and Barb did a great crock-pot desert. I have never seen one before, but I will make sure I see one again. Fabulous. As was all the food. Way tooooo much of course, but you felt obliged to try and eat it all.............
Of course, we meet up with Barb Dennis Julie and Bob next Tuesday, when we also move to Catalina Spa. We wont see Mark and Chris after they move next Sunday, until we are all back together again, minus Barb and Dennis, at Pio Pico TT for Christmas.
